Things to understand In advance of Acquiring Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was released on November 10th, 2009 and had among the greatest roll-outs I can even keep in mind! I didnt go out to the midnight release, but I traveled out on kick off day and was there three hours before launch in the morning and there were witout a doubt 20+ citizens waiting there. After a half hour to 45 minutes, I finally bought my copy of Modern Warfare 2 for the PS3 and off I went to expend the rest of my week ranking up as quickly as I possibly could.
So before I commence, I just want to say that I am a massive fan of Call of Duty 4, but I tried to keep this review from the mind-set of a person who hasnt played any of the Call of Duty games or a person who didnt enjoy the earlier games from the Call of Duty series. I wouldnt think of myself a Call of Duty fan-boy, but I was set on ordering Modern Warfare 2 back when Call of Duty 4 was revealed.
As the majority of you undoubtedly see, I hardly actually spend money on video games that do not possess some form of multi-player and usually will only spend money on video games for the multi-player factor, but I did in fact engage in the complete single player campaign in Modern Warfare 2 and I need to say that I did take pleasure in it even while playing through a second time. The story was strong, it was a little unclear at times, but it tied in quite good with where the story left off in Call of Duty 4 and presented resolutions to loads of unanswered problems.
The only real point I honestly didnt like concerning the single player campaign in Modern Warfare 2 was that, for the most part, it was quite painless on the hardest difficulty setting. Now, I didnt say always, due to the fact that that’s most certainly not true, there were occasions where I got quite aggravated for the reason that there were just so many enemies at once on every single side and it got me quite angry, but other than that, the single player campaign was enjoyable and a refreshing new game to play through.
So far as the controller layout goes, it is actually precisely the same as in Call of Duty 4 and it was ideal for that game and is still totally flawless now. So far as Im concerned, the control layout options in COD4 and MW2 are the ideal layouts that have ever been placed together for any game. You’ll notice a couple of other layouts that you can choose from and pretty much all of those control schemes are great as well. Some of the optional layouts take just a little while to get used to, but after you are used to the new control scheme, you are unstoppable!
Now comes the portion that you all have been holding out for! My views about the multiplayer feature of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2! So after putting in more than 360 hours of online play, I believe I can give a relatively fantastic overview of what its all about. For the most part, everything is better balanced. The maps are laid out efficiently, and most of the perks and weapon attachments work fine. This being said, there are definitely negatives to go along with the positives. Now, dont get me wrong here, Im not going to go over everything that’s suitable in this game, because it would take too long. Instead, Im going to try and go over some of the main weaknesses within the online feature of this game, due to the fact that I imagine this would be alot more important to potential buyers and/or earlier owners.
Here we go, lets get started now on the negative elements. So far as Im concerned, 1 man army is the only sketchy perk. On its own, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and it can be fairly helpful based on your position, but put to use within the hands, it may be put to use in an particularly frustrating way that can make anybody just want to basically break their controller until the pieces stop soaring.
Next up, we have death streaks. To just be straightforward and direct, getting compensated for dying, in my opinion, is just unintelligent. There really should be no need for this if the spawn system was well thought through, which, unfortunately, it most undeniably isn’t, but if you are applying death streaks for anything but to fight the inferior spawn function, then you have no excuse, you are simply a noob.
On that note, I might as well touch over the spawn method being as I already opened that can of worms. While not jumping into a massive rant, basically the spawn organization performs properly in most instances, but on the occasion, it runs just about as well as an Xbox 360 with the RROD. It does not help you at all, it may result in you excessive annoyances, and it can make you wish to dump your console out the window of a 3 story or higher structure. Im rather sure that that is certainly pretty much all that I have to say about that, merely because if youve played a fair number of games and game varieties, you know precisely what Im articulating about.
One other issue that performs just like that, would be the matchmaking solution. The game automatically decides what lobby its going to set you in. This means, you can be placed inside a lobby which has fourteen seconds left during the game and it is basically hopeless for you to win. This really maddens me to no end. Theres no easier strategy to wreck my excitement to just chill and engage in some Modern Warfare 2 then when I start it up and connect to a lobby on a team that’s just getting rocked. Its not fun in any respect, in fact, most of the time if this happens I will simply flip the Ps3 off right then and there and do anything different.
So far as weapons go, they are pretty considerably balanced now. During the beginning there was a massive argument concerning the model 1887s, but due to all the complainers, they got nerfed and now are about just as good as tossing a rock at someone. As far as the duration of the guns go, they are all exceptionally powerful and if you do not react swiftly, you’ll die devoid of even knowing what happened.
I believe this concludes the small rant regarding the multiplayer feature of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and if you would like to learn any extra related to it, just buy it, because it is most undoubtedly well worth the cash.
