The basic definition of telepathy is feeling anothers reactions or thoughts without using what is categorical called the five senses. Telepathy is often referred to as the sixth sense. This allows us to sense things without being face to face with someone.

When we use our minds to convey what we are thinking without speaking is like having another step on a ladder only you can use. It is common knowledge amongst those who work with various variety of animals that some possess a type of telepathy for speaking to each other or conveying thoughts. Some mammals such as whales have been thought to be able to use this to send out messages over miles and miles of ocean.

Some anthropologists are also fully convinced that there are some primitive tribes who today can still use the power of telepathy to communicate with one another.

Even though telepathy is not a widely spoken about, it is not as uncommon as you might think. This used to be a regular occurrence in human behavior. Just as much as what your native tongue or what you look like depends on where and who you are born to, telepathy used to be the same. It is thought that those who do not naturally feel the telepathy, can be trained to remember it again. That most just have a learning problem as someone with dyslexia has a problem with letters and numbers.

One of the abilities it is thought we had as humans long ago was telepathy, but that has evolved out of our consciousness. It is felt that this sixth sense was as normal as the other senses.

Some people consider this another sense altogether. That is considered to be the sixth sense to many. It also comes in many other names depending on the era and region. It is now basically considered an instinct.

People all the time experience ‘gut feelings’ that turn out to be accurate guideposts, feel as if someone is looking at them from behind (which turns out often to be true), have intuitive perceptions about another person that largely turn out to be accurate, have a ‘strange feeling’ that someone they haven’t been in touch with in a while is going to contact them or visit them and it happens, get the feeling that someone they love is in danger and it turns out to be true (this most commonly happens between mother and child, but it’s not limited to that), and so on. These are all aspects of telepathy.

It is difficult to pinpoint why most of humanity would have lost touch with their telepathic powers and stopped believing in them. One problem with learning telepathy today definitely has to do with ascendant religions. Religions today, especially Christianity and Islam, tend to distrust telepathy as being some kind of Satanic tool or proof of demon possession.

These religions among us have come to have such power over society that a great many people have been taught to put no faith in telepathy, but only in ‘the Messiah’ or ‘the Savior’ or ‘the Prophet’ rather than in their own natural abilities.

Because of the celestial quality of formalized religious gods, whether they be Christian, Jewish or Muslim, most of the traditional influential people have nixed the idea of telepathy as it does not fit in with faith of said gods. It is rare, but more modern day theology pursuers are beginning to realize that telepathy may indeed exist.

With our new scientific age, scholars scoff at the thought of telepathy. It can not be explained in a way that makes sense so it does not exist. Because we do not use our other five senses to access telepathy, the theory is that it can not be a true sense as we know it. The fact there is a plethora of data to prove that telepathy does exist does not matter to those who choose to close their eyes to the facts.

It is hard to explain why there is no scientific belief in telepathy. Other senses can be felt by every human being, yet telepathy is only well known to just a small portion of the world. But even with the proofs in place, some will just refuse to believe or even contemplate the existence of telepathy. Some other things that require a trust in a sense to believe in are widely accepted, such as animal instincts.

There may be a sort of envy involved when it comes to telepathy. It is felt that scientists may decide to ignore the fact or to mislabel telepathy as instinct.

It is hard to say how we lost our original telepathic ability. It may be that with the advancement of men and technology, we lost our need to be more telepathic.

The term ‘mental telepathy’ is misleadingly broad. It essentially means the direct communication of thoughts between people without using the basic five senses. There is a huge difference, however, between having a creepy feeling that someone is watching you and being able to pick the plans for a nuclear reactor out of an unsuspecting scientist’s mind. Mental telepathy covers a huge range of abilities from very basic to fairly complex. This article will attempt to explain the different levels of mental telepathy.

KINESICS COMMUNICATION:

Kinesics, or non-verbal communication, occurs whenever two people communicate without speaking, using their eyes, body language, and facial expressions instead. This can range from simple messages like ‘go away’ to entire conversations. Any parent who has tried to communicate something to their spouse that they don’t want their children to hear has experienced this. Non-verbal communication is achieved easiest and most accurately between people who know each other well”siblings, parents and children, husbands and wives, and close friends.

This may not count as mental telepathy, as the two people are using their senses to communicate, just not verbally and this is correct. However, mental telepathy plays a role, because their minds are more attuned to each other because of extended exposure to the way the others mind may think and some predictability comes into play, so there is a sort of mental connection. Two people that know each other well enough to understand more subtle body language, or have created nonverbal signals to communicate, might be argued that it is not be classified as mental telepathy.

EMOTIONAL TELEPATHY:

When you can understand and perceive the emotional state of the other person, then this ability is known as empathy. Many people can do this well and many cant because the ability to put your self in somebody else’s shoes is not inherent. However one can develop empathy with preparation and observation. This fact can be seen in actors who can not only emulate the emotional states of others but also enhance their empathy so much that they can laugh and cry exactly like the other person.

Most people have experienced ‘sympathetic pain’”feeling another person’s pain as if it were your own. For example, after witnessing someone close to you break their arm, you may experience an uncomfortable feeling or even an ache in your arm, even though you know it’s fine. Similarly, when someone close to you is experiencing an overwhelming emotion, such as joy, grief, or depression, you may feel an echo of the same emotion inside you. Finally, there is the phenomena of long distance empathy. In this case, a person suddenly knows”they FEEL it”that someone close to them is in danger, has been hurt, or is in pain, even though they are not near the person at the time.

There are some skeptics and psychologists who scoff at these kind of incidents and call them the work of an overactive brain. In certain cases they may have a point because we can see the injury and the hurt. However in cases of long distance empathy where a person doesn’t even know that his loved one is injured or hurt, then they don’t have an explanation about why a person who cannot even see the other person can feel the pain.

SYMBOL AND OBJECT PROJECTION:

This is the thought transference of concrete symbols and objects between two minds. Mental telepathy at this level must by necessity move beyond the regular five senses, and often requires a designated sender and receiver, intense concentration, training, and practice.

The simpler the concept, the easier it is to communicate through thought alone. For example, a color or shape may be easier to convey than an animal.

Experiments in telepathy are often conducted on this level. The Zener cards used in tests of mental telepathy are simple, concrete black-and-white symbols (a circle, square, star, plus sign, and three wavy lines). On one hand, skeptics and critics of the Zener cards have pointed out that with only five cards to choose from, even a random guess has a 20% chance of being right. On the other hand, one could argue that a shared, known, limited set of concrete symbols increases the ability of the sender and receiver to coordinate their thoughts. Furthermore, although anyone can get a 20% success rate with enough guesses, a success rate of 50% or higher (which have happened) can not be explained away by simple statistics.

ABSTRACT CONCEPTS:

Mental telepathy at this level involves abstract concepts like ideas or actions, which are more complex to communicate than colors and shapes. Telepaths rarely achieve this level, and lower success rates are indicated in experiments.

Telepathy shouldn’t be ruled out when it comes to animals that seem to communicate ideas to each other through non-verbal actions. Because animal brains lack prefrontal lobes, telepathy would probably not go beyond simplistic ideas such as hunger or danger signals, but many have seen two dogs look at each other and go running for an almost pre-decided location.

There is a theory that humans were once capable of telepathy, but lost it as the species evolved and developed language. If this is true, then with the right stimulation humans should be able to ‘relearn’ this dormant ability.

Other scientists believe however that telepathy and other esp and psychic powers are in fact the ‘future’ for mankind. And if enough people can develop these powers, theoretically all humans in the future could become telepathic.

Telepathic communication is essentially the transfer of thoughts, emotions, or feelings between two people, using nothing but the power of the mind.

Contrary to what some may believe, practically everyone possesses a certain amount of telepathic ability, although most people have no idea as to how they should control it on a conscious level. Considering that each and every one of us experience some form of telepathic activity, even if only on a subconscious level, wouldn’t it be great if we were able to control this ability in such a way that we could use it to communicate?

Of course, as is to be expected, there is still a huge amount of skepticism surrounding the issue of mind power. However, perhaps you should try to recall a time in your life when you were in a great mood, but then you met up with someone who was feeling down and depressed. Was it not only a short while before their mood started rubbing off on you?

The reason for this being; it’s not the words themselves which are solely to blame, but it’s also the transfer of that person’s feelings and emotions, as they were received by your subconscious mind.

Interestingly enough, scientific studies have determined that if one accesses ones subconscious mind and focuses their thoughts towards a certain individual, it then becomes possible to once again awaken our telepathic ability.

As with all other means of communication, it is our parents and our elders which teach us. In fact, so strong is the influence of the method in which we’re taught that we even learn to mimic the accent of our parents. Essentially, this is simply because we all share a common ability to learn communication skills, but unfortunately we only learn to communicate in the ways which we are taught.

The problem is; our parents and teachers failed to teach us anything about that other ability known as telepathy. Surely we can’t be denied the chance of mastering that skill simply because we were never taught it as children.

Here are some things you can try in order to awaken your telepathic ability:

Developing Your Mental Muscle

It only stands to reason that in order to master the art of telepathic communication, we need to strengthen and develop our telepathic muscle in much the same way as children need to develop their voice boxes, and the ability to control the way they use their mouths.

Interestingly enough, the part of the brain which is responsible for telepathic communication, works primarily on the subconscious level, or in other words, when you’re in a hypnotic state. This state of mind is a level of the relaxation which is well within the reach of all people.

You can be rest assured that if you learn how to relax your mind, you will be able to reach a trancelike state of mind without any difficulty at all.

Focusing

Of course, being able to focus is of paramount importance, but unfortunately when you’re in a hypnotic state, being able to remain focused is not always easy. In fact it can be rather difficult so next time you reach a state of deep relaxation; you should try to focus on someone you’d like to make contact with.

You need to picture this person in your mind together with happy thoughts. You then need to imagine this person actually receiving all those thoughts and feelings you’re trying to transfer across. The length of time that you need to remain focused will depend on how long you feel it takes to make a connection.

After a few moments, one should stop focusing abruptly in order to break any contact. When this happens, the other person will realize that the contact has been broken and as a result, they will in turn attempt to make contact with you.

The reason why it is so important that you learn how to focus is so that when you eventually start training with a partner, you will already have conditioned your mind to be receptive with regards to images and impressions.

Practicing With a Partner

Once you have a partner, the two of you need to decide which one will be the sender, and which one will be receiving. Ideally, the sender should only attempt to project images of simple things, preferably of things which are brightly colored and easy to recognize.

The person who is the receiver should ensure they have a notebook and a pen nearby so that they can keep a record of all thoughts and impressions which they receive.

When the two of you have reached the end of your practice session, then of course you should both compare your notes in order to see just how accurate the two of you have been. As time goes by, and you practiced more, you will find that you both become noticeably better as far as telepathic communication is concerned.

It’s a well known fact that humans only use around 10% of their brains. The function of other 90% remains a mystery to most people.

We all have the power within us to transfer our thoughts to others without using anything other than the brain. This ability is present at birth.

We are taught from birth to not pursue our natural ability to send and receive telepathic messages. It would more than likely be considered “weird” or a sign of a mental problem if we did recognize this ability.

We push our natural abilities aside, but it still crops up sometimes when we somehow know who is calling when the phone rings or what someone is going to say before they say it.

Are we being warned about events that are soon to happen by a superior being or are we receiving these signals from others when they are thinking about us?

Whether we realize it or not we already send and receive telepathic signals. It is possible to learn to do this deliberately whenever we want. It takes a little practice, but is well within the scope of our brains.

Human telepathy is a natural inherent ability within most human beings that is usually never harnessed or guided into being one of the senses we use consciously in our daily lives. This doesn’t mean we don’t use it. It simply means the majority of people don’t know how to focus their minds in such a way to make communication possible.

Scientist say our though have a frequency and can be measured. A person can learn to use this to contact others and send messages. These thoughts or frequencies must be channeled in the right way in order to be effective in communication.

Ways to develop your telepathic powers

*A trance like state – When you get into a trance like state and become very relaxed, you will be able to send and receive messages at will. It is somewhat like being hypnotized, your mind will be open and receptive to communication.

If you are wanting to develop the ability to be telepathic, work on getting into the trance state to be successful with it.

*Learn to focus – Find a place where you will not be disturbed, relax your mind and body. Picture the one you want to communicate with mentally. Send the message and assure yourself they are getting it. Don’t make it a command just tell the person you would like to hear from them and think pleasing thoughts about them.

*Have faith – Never falter in your belief that this will work, know your receiver will get the message. Stay confident and use an open mind when exploring telepathy.

*End Your Projection – Rather than let your mind trail off onto other things, simply withdraw your thoughts back into yourself and stop projecting. The reason for this is quite simple.

As soon as you are finished and withdraw your good feelings from the person, he or she will be prompted to contact you. This is because you cut off the communication and the person will no longer feel your presence. They will miss you more and take steps to reach out to you.

If you’re practicing alone, this technique can be a great way to learn to focus your mind and your innate telepathic ability. There are equally powerful ways to learn to focus using two people.

Here is a quick method to practice your telepathic communication using two people.

*Send and Receive – One of you will send and the other one will receive. Discuss which one will be which. Assuming you are the sender, here is how it works.

Your friend, the receiver will need to write down anything that flows into his or her mind. Get a note pad and a pen ready and go over the necessity of writing it all down with your friend. Assure him or her that if it is thought it is not made up, this will help make sure it is all wrote down.

*See it – Use some simple images to focus on and send to your receiver. Things like a yellow sun, grapes, or a triangle. It will be easy for you to concentrate on these simple things and project them to your receiver.

*Transmission – Lie back and focus on connecting with your receiver. Imagine the two of you are connected and thoughts are flowing through a wire or cord back and forth. You can visualize this in a way that works for you as long as it represents a connection.

Visually place the object you want to send on or in the line you have visualized and then send it. Follow it all the way to your receiver and picture it clearly as you watch it going to its destination.

Visualizing is a very effective way to send messages telepathicly.

*End Transmission – When you feel that your thought-object has reached its destination, stop projecting and allow your mind to be blank. This pause in transmission is important because it allows your receiver time to realize that an image really did appear. When it stops it also allows the receiver time to take a note of what image he saw.

*Receiver – As with the sender, the receiver needs to relax and be as receptive as possible. He or she should also keep their mind open and record anything they perceive. He or she also needs to have good focus and a desire to see messages.

The receiver may be skeptical at first and think the things coming into their mind are not relevant. Nevertheless, it all needs to be recorded. We all have thoughts going through our heads at times but it is important the receiver knows that thoughts are being deliberately sent.

*The verdict – When you are done with the training exercise, check and see if the images you sent were well received. Even someone with undeveloped powers will receive some images from the sender. Do not expect all of them to come through clearly at first. It will take some practice to get better at it.

These results can be improved with practice.
