Many still today are debating the reality of extrasensory perception. Extrasensory perception is misinterpreted as some people do not understand it. Many just dismiss it without doing any research for themselves, blindly adhering to the ‘scientific’ or ‘religious’ views. With extrasensory perception, all that really happens is that the deep subconscious relays unconscious information.
It is understandable that extrasensory perception is difficult to accept if one has not recognized the experience for themselves. Although this is a totally natural experience that all people have some or other time especially when they state clearly that they have a hunch about going there or their sixth sense tells them not to trust someone etc. This is definitely not mind control as well as the mind is not been controlled by a second party.
Extrasensory perception has been dissected by scientists while trying to theoretically pin point whether this is valid or not. The ganzfeld experiment has been used by parapsychologists in order for them to try and obtain factual evidence that extrasensory perception exists. Scientists have shunned the fact because of lack of an explanation or any theory supplying reliable evidence.
Over the many centuries extrasensory perception has been well noted in cultures gone by as well modern day where these people had extraordinary powers or a sixth sense and because they voiced this ESP they were burned or drowned as well as being termed witches. It is still practiced in many indigenous tribal cultures today whereby communication with spirits as well as those that have passed on is very much alive and probably more accepted as the norm.
Scientists and professionals in later years started to design Zener Cards to experiment in order to have some kind of evidence ESP exists. A simple set of twenty five cards were made all containing five defined symbols like circles, wave like patterns, squares, stars and crosses whereby they would then see if the recipient could tell what symbol was on which card.
The professionals selected cards that were very well shuffled and only they knew what the symbols were and in turn asked the person professing to be able to mind read what was on these cards. As well as later even a dice was used to try and obtain the same effect and both methods proved fruitful. When scientists and psychologists could not prove a definite yes or no explanation after extensive trials extrasensory perception was accepted. But research did not stop there; the professionals went onto to investigating how the unconscious mind functions as well as evaluating the human personality so that they would come to some understanding of ESP.
It was later found that people who were aware of extrasensory perception on taking the card or dice test scored highly as opposed to those who were sceptical. And this was defined as follows – believers (sheep) and sceptics (goats) hence this is now known by professionals as the sheep-goat effect. Professionals then went even further and started including meditation, and the REM sleep procedures which later proved even more effective.
Parapsychologists have accepted extrasensory perceptions as normal and have also divided ESP phenomena into sub categories like clairvoyant, telekinesis, telepathy and many more. It was also well documented during their studies as well accepted that extrasensory perception cannot be controlled nor can an episode be replicated proving that ESP is a totally natural and spontaneous occurrence.
