The mind is truly powerful and beautiful. With our subconscious minds, we can heal, transcend, feel good; or feel bad. Each of us has the power to change our worlds through the power of our subconscious minds, if we only choose to take control of them.

If you’re skeptical, don’t worry. A lot of people are. However, let’s take a look at a few examples of just how powerful your mind can be. One of the most obvious is scientific, and actually occurs in the medical field. This particular subconscious mind effect has been documented over and over again. Called the “placebo effect,” it’s most often used when medical trials are underway. One group of patients in the study is given a placebo, which is made of some type of inert substance that has no physical effect. The other group of patients in the study is given the actual drug. Both groups are told what the medication is used for and what it should do for them. Neither group knows whether they’ve gotten the placebo or the actual medication.

Most studies have shown at least some of what is called the “placebo effect.” That is, at least some of the people in the placebo group have shown “effects” from the “drug,” even though they’ve actually gotten a placebo. That is, their subconscious minds decided that they had gotten the drug and produced some of the same benefits and side effects as they were told the actual medication would give them. Simply, these patients believed they had gotten the medication, so their subconscious minds produced the medication’s effects to at least some degree.

Think about this. When you go to the doctor and you are prescribed a new medication does the doctor tell you the side effects? If your doctor does then he/she is a rarity. You could be thinking that they are not doing their job. Actually they are. They know how powerful the mind is. They know that if they suggest that negative things could happen that you will either not take the medication or you will take it and get the side effects no matter how rare.

Quantum physics has opened the door to “seeing” and observing this world at its essence. Subatomically, all matter is energy, and is not solid. And, quantum physics has also shown that this energy can be manipulated through thought. In fact, it has actually shown that energy cannot exist at all without being observed by someone.

It is the manifestation of your subconscious mind and as such represents your core desires and your willpower. What keeps your astral body from leaving permanently and wandering the universe? Your physical body and your astral body have an unbreakable bond referred to as the silver cord.

The astral body is immediately connected to the physical body upon entering it with this silver cord, this cord cannot ever be broken except through death. This cord actually protects the physical body from losing the astral body.

Another question that is often asked is where the astral body travels to when a person engages in astral projection. The astral body moves along the astral plane. This is, as the astral body is a duplicate for the physical, a duplicate of the physical world. There are a number of ways that it can be described. In some descriptions, it is described as a set of vibrations, which penetrate physical reality but are at a wavelength that separates it from the physical world. It can also be described as a secondary reality or another dimension. What is agreed upon with the descriptions is that there are multiple levels to the astral plane.

Every one of us already has the ability to astral project. Many people astral project without being aware of it. However, it is learning to control the experience while astral projecting which is important and is what we will be discussing here.

You probably already know about the astral body and the astral plane, so we’ll jump right into techniques which can assist you in your efforts to learn how to astral project. Different people do better using different methods, so you’ll probably want to try out a few until you hit on one which gets good results for you.

The following technique is a five-step process which can be done as you’re lying in bed before you fall asleep.

*First; Relax your entire body completely. The best way to do this is to start with your toes and work your way upwards, tensing and then relaxing each part of your body. You’ll become deeply relaxed as you do this and your body may feel extremely heavy; this is perfectly normal.

*Second; Take slow, deep breaths and concentrate on the feeling of the air filling your lungs. When you exhale, do so slowly and visualize your stress and tension exiting your body with each breath. You’ll need to stay focused during this step, since it’s easy to fall asleep when you’re this deeply relaxed.

*Third; Concentrate on the feeling of your body’s total relaxation. Think of it as a stone or a lump of earth; something which is heavy and immobile. Now refocus your attention to your astral body; think about how light it feels, weightless in fact. Close your eyes and visualize your astral body floating away on the breeze.

*Fourth ; Right now, you may experience what many people do while practicing this technique; the sensation of seeing around in your darkened room, even with your eyes closed. The room will appear to be illuminated by a purple light. If you experience this, try to focus on the ceiling.

*Fifth; Try to visualize pulling this light to your astral body. You’ll feel like you’re floating; this is your astral body floating above your physical body. Just look down and you’ll be able to see your bed with your physical body at rest below.

If you’ve made it this far successfully, you are astral projecting and can begin on your astral travels. If this method doesn’t work for you, however, there is another technique which many find useful.

This is called the gazing method and is used by many when learning how to astral project. It’s a very simple method where you focus your complete attention on an object. This can be anything as long as its within your line of sight while you lie in bed.

Gaze at this object and stay focused on it. Eventually, your eyelids will become too heavy to keep open; but if you’ve succeeded you’ll still be able to see this object in front of you. Continue to gaze at it until you feel an urge to stand up. When you do, you’ll see your physical body lying in bed asleep! Don’t be alarmed; this means you’ve succeeded and can begin to astral travel.

Don’t give up if you don’t succeed the first time you try these techniques. Practice makes perfect and if you just aren’t having luck with these methods, there are plenty of others you can try. Just stick with it and be patient and you’ll learn how to astral project sooner than you think.

It’s less important how you do it as that you are able to get the message to your subconscious mind that there’s nothing to fear about astral projection and that it’s perfectly fine for your astral body to leave the physical realm and travel. One good way to communicate with your subconscious is to repeat affirmations to yourself.

There are a lot of different methods of learning to astral project and whatever works for you is a good way to go.

The chakra is a Sanskrit word that literally means a spinning wheel or vortex. Its other meaning are the seven chakras found in the human body which corresponds to the glandular systems of the body. Each chakra is a center of spinning energy where the first chakra is found at the base of the spine while the seventh, at the crown.

It is known that the chakra is a center of spinning energy, and that everything that moves causes vibrations. With this vibration, you find sound and this is why different parts of the body vibrate with different chakra sounds at different frequencies.

Seven different chakra sounds come from the seven chakras. Colors also vibrate with the sound at different frequencies. There are different colors associated with the different chakras and it is the combination of the chakra sound and color that restores balance in chakras. This in turn improves health.

Sound healing using chakra sounds is easy to do; all that is needed is you and your voice to make you feel clearer, better and calmer within minutes. All chakra sounds should be soft and gentle, for no longer than five minutes each.

1. The first chakra sound is UH, the deepest sound possible. This chakra sound has to be done with eyes closed and with attention on the spine base chakra, the base chakra. 3. The third chakra sound “OH has to come from the navel chakra, found at the navel area. The color for complimenting visualization here is yellow. This chakra sound has to start very softly and gently, but higher than the last sound.

4. The heart chakra is found in the middle of the chest, and its chakra sound is AH. This is the sound that is emitted when in love, and this is why the heart chakra is usually related to love. This chakra sound can be complimented with the color green and should be started with a gentle and soft sound, that is however of a higher pitch than the last chakra sound.

5. The chakra sound for the throat chakra is EYE which is complemented by the color blue and is to be chanted at a higher pitch than previous sounds.

6. In between the forehead and slightly above the two eyes is the chakra sound belonging to the third eye. This chakra sound is AYE and is complimented with indigo color. This chakra sound starts with a soft and gentle tone which is however of a higher pitch than the previous sounds.

7. The crown chakra situated at the top of the head is where you chant the highest sound possible, EEE. This chakra sound is complemented with the color purple that starts with the highest sound you can make, EEE. Like other chakra sounds, this chakra sound also starts softly and gently.

The eyes have to be closed when chanting all chakra sounds with attention concentrated on the different chakras. This focus on the chakra starts projecting the chakra sound from the chakra. And the resonance from the sound chakras helps in the balance and alignment of the each chakra with other chakras.

It is better if you relax or meditate after this exercise as you may feel light headed. This should be done so that you can realize the benefits of the chakra sounds better.

Sometimes known as conscious dreaming, lucid dreaming is the art of keeping self aware and knowing that one is dreaming while in a dream. This includes being conscious that the events unfolding around you are only part of the dream and being able to exercise control over the dream. All of this is possible for the person who has learned how to use lucid dreaming.

Being able to control the course of your dreams is nothing less than a life-changing, liberating experience. All things that you felt could hold you back in life just melt away and you are in control of every situation.

But is it as simple as it looks like? Can everyone experience lucid dreaming and bring to life what otherwise seems difficult or impossible in this reality?

In fact, lucid dreaming is not too difficult a task. If you are determined to learn this powerful medium of expressing your inner desires, there are tried and tested ways of achieving this.

First, you must decide exactly what you want to accomplish here. Are you just trying to make your dreams a playground through lucid dreaming, or is there a specific goal which you are aiming to achieve through lucid dreaming? Whatever your reason, you should be clear and determined about it.

Next you have to learn the actual techniques of lucid dreaming. The first step is to learn the process of Dream Recall, which is exactly what it sounds like. You need to begin practicing remembering your dreams in detail. This is a step on the road towards lucid dreaming.

This isn\’t going to happen overnight (if you\’ll forgive the pun). Many find it helpful to keep a dream recall register, which is a sort of dream diary. You will find at first that you sometimes will awake suddenly during lucid dreams. This is normal. Just recall the events of your dream as you try to fall back asleep and attempt to reenter the dream, steering in the direction that you want it go.

Another good way of inducing lucid dreams is to wake a few hours earlier than usual, then go back to sleep. The dreams you will have in these few hours are the easiest to make into lucid dreams. You may even find yourself unsure whether you have been sleeping or just thinking to yourself as you lay in bed. Just set your alarm for a few hours early, wake and reset the alarm and then go back to sleep and you will be more likely to have lucid dreams.

When learning lucid dreaming, it helps to be well aware of your sleep patterns so you know when the best times for you to have lucid dreams are.

Lucid dreaming can actually help you fight sleeping disorders, like insomnia. Whenever you are struggling to sleep at the normal sleeping hours, you just need to tell your mind that sleeping equals lucid dreaming, and your mind will take care of all the thoughts that are preventing you from falling asleep.

It once was the case that it could take years to learn lucid dreaming; the only way to prepare the mind was meditation, which took a long time to master. A lot of people lack the discipline and would simply give up. New technologies, especially audio technology have made it possible for anyone to experience lucid dreaming.

So you want to lucid dream. Well that\’s a good start, at least you know what you want to do; but how exactly do you go about it?

You also need to think about exactly why you want to become a lucid dreamer. What are the benefits of dreaming lucidly? To help us find the benefits, let us first look at \’normal\’ sleep.

Normal sleep helps us refresh ourselves for the next day. However, if you were a lucid dreamer, you would be able to control the period of time when you were dreaming.

Normal sleep just seems to serve the purpose of simply refreshing ourselves in order to live out the next day. But what if you could control that period of time that you have dreams?

What if rather than being an active observer, you can be the one who can lead your dream to be whatever you want, rather than your dream leading you? This is what a lucid dreamer is; someone who is in total control of their dreams; able to explore new worlds that are not bound to the physical, societal and time-space laws of the real world.

If you want to become a lucid dreamer, there are two major ways to accomplish it. The first way is called DILD, or dream-initiated lucid dream. That\’s when you\’re in the process of having a dream, realize that it\’s happening, and retain your sense of consciousness inside the dream.

The second method is called WILD, and stands for wake-initiated lucid dream. This is when you start out awake and fall asleep, but do not experience a change in consciousness levels. This is the process of simply entering a dream, the same way you\’d walk through a door, instead of waking up inside the dream.

How exactly do you induce either one of these lucid dream states?

Dream Recall

If you\’d like to lucid dream, perhaps one of the most successful way of doing so is known as dream recall. Dream recall is simply the ability to remember one\’s dreams. By remembering your dreams, you are able to recognize them when you are sleeping, because most likely, you will have the same dream, or at least aspects of it, more than once.

The way to practise dream recall is by keeping a dream journal. The dream journal is meant as a tool to write down anything you can remember about your dream, in order to recall it for the future. This should be done right after waking up; otherwise dreams will become harder to remember.

Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams (MILD)

This is a technique that was developed by Dr. Stephen LaBerge, one of the lead scientists studying lucid dreaming. The intent here is to simply tell yourself that you will remember something, like an object for example and then in the dream, when you see this object you will realize it is a dream.

Wake-Back-to-Bed (WBTB)

To use the wake back to bed method you need do little initially beyond setting your clock to wake you up. Set your clock for about five hours sleep give or take an hour, once the alarm goes off get up and do something. Read a book, your dream journal anything but going back to sleep, after approximately an hour you may go back to bed.

In studies done this method has 60% of the time. When you are interrupted in the middle of sleep, you are interrupting rapid eye movement sleep. This is the time when dreams are the most active. Therefore, you stop in the middle of your best dreamtime only to return to sleep a short time later, improving your chances of entering lucid dream state.

Cycle Adjustment Technique

This technique was created by Daniel Love, and involves setting an alarm that will wake you an hour and a half before you\’d normally get up. Once you\’re used to waking up early, alternate between the early alarm and your old alarm. When you\’re waking up normally, your body will already be expecting the early alarm, and make you more likely to \”wake up\” in your dream.

Wake-Initiation of Lucid Dream (WILD)

This method was mentioned above. To achieve a lucid dream using it, all that\’s needed is keeping your mind awake while your body falls asleep. This is one of the most interesting ways of having a lucid dream. It\’s as if you\’re getting ready to watch a movie – you start in the real world, sitting on the couch, and turn on the television and press play (when you start to sleep). The screen begins black, just like when your eyes are closed, and all you need to do is wait for the movie or dream to start.

Several ways to stay aware but not awake include imagining descending or going up stairs, chanting, counting, breathing control, counting your breaths, and relaxing your body from head to toe. This all falls under self hypnosis. Don\’t do this when you\’re tired, or you\’ll simply fall unconscious.

Recent technological advances mean that dreaming masks and other useful devices have been developed. They contain strobe lights and other devices that are believed to induce lucid dreaming.

The most reliable and easiest way of inducing a lucid dream may be listening to binaural beats sound frequencies through headphones.

These work by synchronizing your brain\’s two hemispheres. They almost instantly allow your brain waves to reach the frequency that occurs in REM sleep and which is needed for you to be a lucid dreamer.

It’s a well known fact that humans only use around 10% of their brains. The function of other 90% remains a mystery to most people.

*End Transmission – When you feel that your thought-object has reached its destination, stop projecting and allow your mind to be blank. This pause in transmission is important because it allows your receiver time to realize that an image really did appear. *Receiver – As with the sender, the receiver needs to relax and be as receptive as possible. He or she should also keep their mind open and record anything they perceive. He or she also needs to have good focus and a desire to see messages.

The receiver may be skeptical at first and think the things coming into their mind are not relevant. Nevertheless, it all needs to be recorded. We all have thoughts going through our heads at times but it is important the receiver knows that thoughts are being deliberately sent.

*The verdict – When you are done with the training exercise, check and see if the images you sent were well received. Even someone with undeveloped powers will receive some images from the sender.
