Talk with your friends and ask them if weddings can be stressful. They will surely have a lot of stories to tell you.

You should not have a care in the world on your wedding day. It should be a totally relaxing and special day.

There is so much to do on your actual wedding day that a day in a busy office would be like taking a day off compared to your wedding day. Asking for support from everyone that you can will make your special day more special.

Your wedding day will be full for sure but stress can be avoided as long as you get lots of support and plan well. Remember your bridal professionals are there to take the stress from you and if have planned well a few of your close friends will be there to catch any problems for you and solve them.

Around ten years ago pre-wedding photography came into its own in Singapore as a way to have a more enjoyable actual wedding day. Today it is very popular. With Singapore having a lot of traditional Asian style weddings doing a lot of the main photography before the wedding is often essential. Traditional weddings are involving and detailed and involve usually a large number of people. Getting the main photos done ahead of time is essential.

Smart photographers started offering pre-wedding packages so that all the stress could be taken out of the actual day. So with pre-wedding photography there was no longer any need to rush around to get all the pics taken. It also removed the risk of the special day pics being totally destroyed by bad weather as well.

Pre-wedding packages come in all shapes and sizes. Most of the packages offered will include both outdoor shots as well as studio shots. Simply ask your photographer what will be included in your package.

As well as ensuring you get a great set of photos for your album, pre-bridal photos mean that you have something special to show at your actual wedding to your guests, which is always nice.

Like all good ideas, pre-wedding photography has caught on around the world. It may not be called pre-wedding photography but the idea still exists. Just ask your professional wedding photographer about including this option when they give you a price.

A great way to make money with photography is to focus on events. You will be surprised about how many people want events covered and photographed.

Here\’s how you can do it

Cover only events where it is hard for people to take the pics themselves and where they will want to keep their memories frozen in film.

One idea is to go to kids sports events. Get permission from the coach to click pics for the parents watching and then start clicking away. If you turn up with a massive telephoto lens like the ones used for pro coverage of events, you will be taken seriously. Make sure you get all the kids doing great action shots and then hand out flyers to all the kids\’ parents watching with your web address. If you can grab the parents email address so you can email them the URL of you site then upload the pics to your web site that day and email everyone. If you have a simple shopping cart set up you can make money in a few hours as people pop in to see the pics and buy them for $20 or more a pop.

You can do a similar thing with weddings. Take all the regular shots as part of the wedding coverage but then get your URL printed on the wedding invites and all the other wedding materials and also get an email list of all the wedding guests, offer the couple a nice 20% discount for doing this and then take lots of extra pics at the wedding of the guests doing all the things they do. Upload all the pics to your site and send the emails. You will then make a lot more money than the 20% discount it cost you because then 20 or 30 people will be also buying your pics at $20 or more a shot straight from your site. Charging a higher price for high res pics is also a great money spinner.

The key is to just find a corner of the market where you can take the pics and then sell them easily online.

Dog shows, fashion shows, horse shows, car shows, livestock competitions, rock shows, – the list goes on. Keep your eye out in the events section of your local paper to see what is happening. Always ask for permission to shoot pics and if you need to offer the people 10% of the income if feel you need to so you can get easy access.

You are creating something that people will keep for years to come. You are capturing a very special moment in people’s lives. Guaranteeing quality and highly skilled photography is something every bride and groom wants. If you choose to be a wedding photographer you can make a lot of money by doing so. With the money comes the risk which you must manage well.

A disclaimer should be included in a well written up first time contract. If you don’t have a disclaimer you could be sued afterwards. There are a few reason you should not be held accountable for and they are failure of equipment, miss placed pictures after they were sent away, and photos that do not develop properly. You do not want to be sued for breaching your contract.

The hourly rate and how many pictures are to be taken should also be included in the contract. Include how much the cost of development is and the cost of the album. Make sure you discuss with your clients what their requirements are. They might want a certain person or family they would like pictures of since they don’t get to see them often, so that should be discussed as well if it is an issue.

Make a list of all the pictures that your client’s requested. Here are a few common ones, pre-ceremony, wedding ceremony, post-ceremony and reception. Who will be in certain photographs should be discussed with the client as well. Pay attention to what your clients are saying because each one will be different.

When you schedule your clients in make sure they pay you a deposit. Most people will pay you 50% prior to the wedding and the remaining afterwards. So you don’t end up bothering the bride and groom during the reception, arrangements should be made for when the remainder will be paid. They would think you were unprofessional and wish they had hired someone else.

Photoshop is a good program to use if you are going to be processing the pictures yourself. You can enhance the photos with all sorts of techniques such as flaw removal, montage, changing the color to black and which or sepia, as well as other unique features.

Look for ways to add extra value that you have not told them about. This will always generate good feelings. A special surprise will keep everyone talking and generating more business for you in the future. Think different. Imagine for example if you uploaded all their pictures onto a password protected part of your website so that they and their friends can login and view.

In the end doing bridal photography can be lucrative and fun as long as you build on your people skills.

Every company has its important events, like the opening of a new office, or the announcement of new management. The happenings of most of these events need to be distributed to the employees as well as the media, for which you need pictures. Capturing of these images requires event photographers.

Event photography is significantly different from regular photography or even pro photography in a studio setting, as the photographer can not exercise any say in the happenings of the occasion. Capturing an event asks for a lot of talent, and the photographer must be able to handle tricky situations. However, the biggest difficulty is that an event photographer does not get a second chance.

There are some key aspects that you need to be aware of before you go ahead and select an event photographer. He must have impressive accuracy and good technical know-how of light settings for his equipment, as most corporate events take place indoors. You must also make sure that the photographer does not carry a low-end camera with poor resolution or lack of adaptability to relatively darker surroundings.

It is very important to get on board a professional event photographer from an established company. To make sure that the photographer will do justice to your needs, have a look at samples of his past work. Getting quality related information from the photographer’s previous clients can also be of help.

Once you have chosen a photographer, discuss the details of the project with him and make your expectations clear. This will ensure that there is no communication gap and will also give you assurance in the photographer’s capability of managing tricky situations during the event. In addition, once you have discussed things out, the corporate photographer would be much more at ease and sure about delivering well on the job.

Food photography is a very technical area of photography because you have two dimensions to master – film and food. Here are some useful tips to help you.

Lighting the scene

Light is obviously the tool of a photographer second to the camera itself. Getting this right is always the trick with any kind of photography. With food photography though it is super important. Get it wrong and no amount of photoshop work will bring the picture to life.

Props

Food photographers setting up to take a picture not only arrange the food neatly but they also include a plate or table cloth to add the surrounding. The idea is not to clutter the picture but allow room for a few extra items you can add to it like a glass, napkin, or a fork. These items can be placed in the background in a secondary location of your picture area, giving it extra spice.

If you do a lot of food photography then shopping at second hand markets can be a great way to build your box of props. You can pick up expensive items like large pots and dishes and vases for a few dollars and a smile. If you do not do much then you may have to go shopping for what you need and bill the client!

Be Fast

Unfortunately food won’t stay appealing for very long. As a food photographer you will want to be well prepared and ready to shoot your picture as soon as the dish is finished. This will give it no time to melt, collapse or lose its color. So knowing what you want the picture to turn out like will help you to prepare for the photo. One way food photographers prepare is to have everything arranged before the food is finished. By placing a temporary stand-in plate is an excellent way to get the lighting right, and when the food is finished you switch it with the finished dish and your picture is ready to be taken.

Way to improve your photographs in an instant

One simple way is to simply use a light high quality vegetable oil and brush it on the food! This will create a high quality shiny finish that we love to see on food.

Get to know the chef

You will usually be working with a food professional be it a stylist or chef. Hopefully you are not on a low budget shoot and have to do the displays yourself.

Take a few minutes before the shoot to talk with the chef and ask them how they like to work. Ask them if there is anything you need to know about the food that may not be obvious. If nothing else this will make them feel good so you will then be able to work closer and better together.

Corporate photography is a segment of the greater discipline of commercial photography. However, the sphere of corporate photography is quite vast and a person involved in it should be highly proficient in his art.

Corporate photography has a lot of aspects that differentiate it from other types of commercial photography. It is a one-shot business with no opportunity for retakes that enable a photographer to improve upon his work if he doesn’t get it correct the first time. Hence a seasoned and able corporate photographer needs to be contacted for the task.

The photographer, who you are intending to hire, must also have the ability to think quickly as at corporate events everything takes place quickly and unexpectedly. Someone who is alert and shows urgency besides having an overall sense of what is going on around him can perform remarkably as a corporate photographer.

An important activity included in a corporate photographer’s job profile is clicking headshots of the high-ranking business executives at an event. The headshots are either meant for archival records or are printed in business publications along with the corresponding news item. The photographer must therefore be proficient in this job.

The mere reputation of a photographer does not assure his competence in corporate photography. For instance, a corporate event would be an absolutely wrong project to be undertaken by a wedding photographer and his task there might even cause public embarrassment. In wedding ceremonies, one event follows another in a clearly defined sequence, hence all that the photographer requires to do is follow the succession of events and go on clicking pictures. But in corporate events, unexpected occurrences are very common and this requires complete awareness from the photographer. Therefore, a seasoned corporate photographer is best suited for the task

Corporate photography serves many important business functions and by remembering and working on these tips you would be able to hire someone who can do justice to your needs. However, to verify all the photographer’s claims, you must always look at samples of his past work.

The two most important people on a wedding day are, certainly the wedding couple. To get some excellent portraits, the photographer should seclude the wedding couple from the celebration for a while to capture the intimate moments after the ceremony. This helps the couple to get away from the delight of their wedding as well.

Ideally, the photographer would be required to spend a casual amount of quality time with the bride and the groom during the portrait session. On the wedding day it doesn’t always happen because it is rare to have time on the actual day of the wedding. The time taken for pictures can well vary from an hour to no time at all. It can take up to an hour for the photographer to take the pictures.

When is the best time to take aside the bride and groom for some quality time with the photographer?

Since the couple will still look fresh, most photographers believe that the window before the reception is suitable for the portraits.

Sometimes the bride and groom would want to start the portrait shoot even before the ceremony says Bradley Hanson, award winning photographer. When the bride is getting ready is when he usually starts photographing.

Other photo journalists believe that the right time for a portrait session is just after the couple has exchanged their vows, and are still are evidently feeling the emotions of being newly-wed.

For the perfect actual day session to begin, the newly-weds should set aside some time to spend with the photographer. They should find ways to politely lose the relatives and guests to acquire the beautiful moments, so that they can be cherished for a lifetime.

Too many people trying to take pictures of the newly-weds and crying for attention may very well ruin a good portrait session on the wedding day. As a result of this, most photographers choose to have the couple alone for the shoot so that it is not disturbed by anyone.

Most newly-weds start feeling uncomfortable before the camera when the portrait shoot is going to take place, says Shawna Herring, award winning photographer. Professional photographers try to talk to the camera-shy couple about things other than the portrait session so that they forget the camera is even there.

It is also recommended to choose a day before or after the wedding for the photo shoot and go with the photographer to a different location. To have a good relationship with the photographer this really seems to help loosen them up. In a short time, the couple may even forget the existence of the camera.

There are thousands of reasons why the photographer might not achieve time alone with the wedding couple. Working together with the bride and groom will help to achieve the creative portrait session.

Wedding photography includes pictures of the couple before the marriage, as well as coverage of the actual ceremony and reception. The two approaches in wedding photography are traditional and photojournalistic. Traditional wedding photography consists of classically posed images. In this approach, there is much interaction with the photographer on the day of the wedding. In the photojournalistic approach, the images recorded are much more subtle with less photographer interaction. These two approaches are the two extremes of photographic styles. Today most photographers will side with one of the two styles.

When you are hiring a wedding photographer to shoot your wedding, there are a few things you should keep in mind. Every photographer possesses an individual style. It takes some research from your side to decide who you want to photograph your wedding. To find the perfect photographer you should start looking well ahead of time. If you are hiring a wedding photojournalist to cover your wedding, it is recommended that you focus more on the creative side than on the business process involved. One shouldn’t be concerned about comparing various package details or the number of prints he is going to get. Once you have chosen a photographer for the job, take care of all minute details then and there so that the photographer you hired is not preoccupied about with thoughts of collecting his payment, on the wedding day.

Always remember NOT to give constant direction to the professional you have hired. The biggest pet peeve of wedding photographers is that they are given instructions by the brides, grooms, parents, relatives and everyone on the wedding party. No photographer likes to be directed as to what to shoot and how to do it. The more there’s third party interaction, the less creativity in the photography. Sometimes the relatives and friends are so preoccupied in instructing the photographer that they almost miss the entire wedding.

As always, trust is a major factor that affects your relationship with the photographer. Not everything can be controlled on your wedding day, so you will need to come to terms with that. That’s another reason why you hired a professional to capture all the beautiful moments of the wedding day.

Most importantly, do not starve your photographer. No matter how professional the photographer is, he needs to eat. He would be the last person you want to starve. Do not give your photographer long lists of things to do. He might not get what you actually hired him to do.

When you are planning you’re wedding you are going to want to find an event photographer. You will need them to have acquired a few qualities such as style, motivation, experience and good communication. A well trained event photographer will only posses these qualities through experience, so making sure that they are well trained and can focus on what you want is important.

Every event photographer will have their own style. You will want to make sure that your ideas about your wedding will coincide with their style. If you don’t you could up with a horrible experience. Every event photographer will have a different style. Traditional and wild are two extreme styles of photographers. Photos of the bride and groom, and the wedding party are examples of a traditional style. Making funny faces and having completely serious faces might be considered a wild style.

When picking an event photographer you will need one who is highly motivated. You do not want to have someone who is lazy and sitting around missing all the good pictures they could be capturing. Motivation isn’t just about wanting to do the job, but finding a way to enjoy it and bring trust as well as good verbal communication to everyone as well.

Over time is the only way an event photographer will gain experience. Make sure you question your photographer how long they have been in the business, where they went to school and for how long, and who they were employed with before they went into business for themselves (if that is the case). This should help you when making a clear decision on an event photographer. If they are now employed by themselves you can find out what kind of quality they produced when they were employed by asking their former employer. It may be a secretive way of getting information but it is better to find out then to have awful pictures created.

It’s a good idea to choose en event photographer who you comfortable around. And they should try to make you feel comfortable and relaxed when around them. This will help them in capturing the precious photos later on at your wedding. You will see the emotion in the wedding pictures if you are nervous around your event photographer.
